RB1-TBL Bruce Lawson

In 1998 Bruce and two friends were each issued with a pair of these at Beitbridge on the SA/ Zimbabwe border. They used the same pair right through to Northern Malawi. We only replaced them once we issued them the RB5 Trans Africa for the wet season in Tanzania. That says something. The RB1 is still worn by Bruce on trail today.
